The grieving mother of a teenager—who investigators say was lured into a deadly trap and whose final, tragic moments were heartlessly recorded on video—is now speaking out, revealing the painful story of her son’s doomed romance with the girl he once described as “a dream come true.”
That same girl, according to law enforcement, now stands accused of murder. What began as a heated argument, investigators allege, spiraled into a sinister setup that ended with the 16-year-old’s life cut short.
On the night of June 24, 2025, at about 11:30 p.m., Trey Dean Wright was gunned down in Florence County, South Carolina. The teenager was shot several times, his last moments captured on camera in a display of cruelty that has shaken the community.
“When deputies arrived, they found the victim lying in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased,” the Florence County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) confirmed in a statement.
