Richard Huff, a 51-year-old father, proudly calls himself an “ink addict.” With more than 240 tattoos covering his body, Richard has transformed himself into a living canvas of memories, milestones, and personal meaning.

But his passion hasn’t come without judgment. Despite his devotion to his family, Richard frequently faces criticism and online trolling, with some labeling him a “bad parent” and even a “monster” simply because of his heavily tattooed appearance.

Richard and his wife Marita are raising seven children together, and they emphasize that—tattoos aside—their family is no different from any other. For Richard, his extensive body art isn’t just ink on skin; it’s a personal chronicle of his life, a collection of stories etched permanently onto his body. But that same passion often draws stares and sparks judgment from strangers.

His tattoo journey began at just 17, and Richard admits it quickly became an addiction. Starting with his legs, he gradually worked his way up, eventually covering around 85% of his body. Many of the tattoos carry deep meaning, including the names of his children and even a design featuring his daughter’s lips.

Richard has set himself a goal: to be fully covered in tattoos within the next four years. For him, the process is both fascinating and meaningful—not only for the pain it involves but also for the art it creates.
