Ashley Biden, the daughter of President Joe Biden, has shared an update from the hospital as her father continues treatment for cancer.
The update follows months of concern since the former president revealed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer.
In May, Biden, 82, announced that doctors had discovered the illness after he began experiencing urinary symptoms. Subsequent medical evaluations uncovered a small nodule on his prostate, prompting further testing and eventual diagnosis.
“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” Biden’s office confirmed in a statement at the time.
“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement continued.
While the diagnosis points to an aggressive and advanced form of the disease, doctors emphasized that the cancer is hormone-sensitive — a factor that allows for more effective treatment and management.
Ashley Biden’s message from the hospital offered reassurance to the public, signaling that her father remains in capable medical hands as he continues to undergo treatment and recovery.

Earlier this week, a spokesperson for President Joe Biden’s team provided a rare update on his ongoing battle with cancer, confirming that the 82-year-old is currently undergoing radiation therapy in combination with hormone treatment.
“As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“The cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” the statement added, offering a note of cautious optimism about the president’s prognosis.
According to Hello Magazine, Biden’s daughter, Ashley, has now shared a further update — this time from the hospital itself — where the former president has just completed a course of radiation treatment.

Reflecting on his diagnosis earlier this year, Biden himself spoke with characteristic optimism. “It’s all a matter of taking a pill, one particular pill, for the next six weeks and then another one,” he explained. “Well, the prognosis is good. You know, we’re working on everything. It’s moving along. So I feel good.”
