Report: Newly Declassified Records Shed Light on Adam Schiff’s Alleged Role in Classified Leaks
Newly released FBI interview records have reignited controversy surrounding Senator Adam Schiff, revealing explosive allegations that he approved the leaking of classified information during the height of the Trump–Russia investigation.
Documents obtained by Just The News cite a whistleblower—identified as a Democratic intelligence officer who served on the House Intelligence Committee—as telling the FBI on multiple occasions between 2017 and 2023 that Schiff personally authorized the release of sensitive material with the intent to politically harm then-President Donald Trump.
At the time, Schiff was the ranking Democrat on the committee and later became its chairman, a position that gave him access to some of the nation’s most sensitive intelligence. According to the whistleblower, Representative Eric Swalwell was likely the intermediary who directly passed classified details to the press in order to bolster the “Russiagate” narrative that dominated headlines throughout Trump’s presidency.
One FBI summary reportedly quotes Schiff telling committee staffers during a closed-door meeting that certain classified information “derogatory to Trump” would be leaked and subsequently used to pursue legal action against him.
Swalwell has denied the accusations, pushing back against what he called “baseless political smears,” while also criticizing FBI Director Kash Patel’s handling of related matters. The whistleblower further claimed that Schiff had been promised the position of CIA Director in a potential Hillary Clinton administration and, after her 2016 loss, continued to work behind the scenes to undermine Trump through calculated disclosures.
Despite repeatedly alerting federal authorities, the whistleblower alleges that the Justice Department showed little interest in pursuing the matter. They also claim to have been terminated after reporting their concerns—an action that raises additional questions about the government’s willingness to investigate internal misconduct.
Investigative reporter Paul Sperry added that the leaked material may have been funneled to Washington Post journalist Ellen Nakashima, citing her longstanding connections to senior intelligence officials. Schiff’s office has not yet issued a public response to the allegations.
If verified, the claims could have far-reaching legal and political implications, especially given Schiff’s current role as a sitting U.S. senator and his prominent position within the Democratic Party.
NEW: Declassified docs show Obama’s spooks used Washington Post stenographer Ellen Nakashima to plant 3 major Russiagate stories: 1) Crowdstrike/DNC “hack”; 2) ICA Putin-Trump “consensus” and 3) Carter Page “Russian agent” FISAs. Nakashima is a useful idiot and a Pulitzer fraud. pic.twitter.com/zpap6KzHbA

Baseless smear by Kash Patel. Inspector General already smacked down Trump’s investigation of me and Schiff from 2017.
Not a shocker, though, as Kash put Schiff and I at top of his enemies list. He thinks he will silence us. He won’t. https://t.co/oz6FixIZpe

While this is only the unverified allegation of a single former staffer, the alleged conduct would involve criminal and unethical conduct of the highest order, if proven… https://t.co/rXROc6aQW2
