Understanding Muscle Cramps: Causes, Symptoms, and Relief
Muscle cramps are sudden, involuntary contractions of a muscle that often cause sharp, intense pain. While generally not dangerous, they can be extremely uncomfortable and disruptive, sometimes interrupting daily activities or sleep.
Cramps typically last anywhere from a few seconds to around ten minutes. They most commonly affect the calves and feet, but can also occur in the thighs or other muscles.
